Product Overview
Few Layers MoS₂ Powder consists of molybdenum disulfide nanosheets with a well-defined layered structure similar to graphene. While MoS₂ can exist in three crystalline phases (1T, 2H, 3R), this material predominantly features the stable 2H phase with its characteristic hexagonal sandwich configuration. We produce this powder through a lithium intercalation process: using n-butyllithium to insert lithium ions between MoS₂ layers, forming an intercalation compound that expands in solvent and is exfoliated via ultrasonication before freeze-drying. The resulting material exhibits a 1T-2H hybrid crystal structure with approximately 60% 1T phase content (batch-dependent).
