Product Overview
Thin Layer MoS₂ Powder is a two-dimensional transition metal disulfide with a graphene-like layered structure. While MoS₂ has three crystal phases (1T, 2H, 3R), the bulk material mainly adopts the stable 2H phase, featuring a characteristic sandwich structure in a hexagonal crystal system. We produce this material via a lithium intercalation method: using n-butyllithium to insert lithium ions between MoS₂ layers, forming an intercalation compound that expands in aqueous solvent and is then exfoliated ultrasonically into thin-layer dispersions. The resulting MoS₂ nanosheets exhibit a 1T-2H mixed-phase structure, with the 1T phase proportion typically around 60% (batch-dependent).
