Product Overview
Bacterial Cellulose (BC) refers to a type of cellulose synthesized by microorganisms such as Acetobacter and Agrobacterium. Its molecular structure is essentially identical to plant cellulose, featuring fiber diameters ranging from 10 to 100 nanometers. Furthermore, multiple microfibrils assemble into filamentous bundles that interweave, forming an ultra-fine network structure. More importantly, unlike plant cellulose, BC is free of lignin, pectin, and other by-products, while exhibiting high crystallinity. In addition, it demonstrates outstanding biocompatibility, adaptability, and controllable biosynthesis. Accordingly, our company offers bacterial cellulose in three distinct forms—aqueous dispersion, gel film, and dry film—specifically designed to support research applications.

Key Features

  • Exceptional Mechanical Properties: Specifically, its strength and stiffness far exceed those of conventional wood-based materials.

  • High Thermal Stability: In particular, the thermal decomposition temperature is significantly higher than that of wood.

  • Superior Barrier Performance: It displays exceptional resistance to both water vapor and oxygen transmission compared to traditional wood materials.

  • Biocompatibility & Biodegradability: As a natural biopolymer, it is non-toxic, absorbable, and fully degradable in the human body.

Application Areas

  •  Medical Materials
Owing to its high wet-state strength and excellent biocompatibility, BC is well-suited for artificial skin and temporary wound dressings.

  • Food Industry
Due to its hydrophilicity, viscosity, and stability, it performs effectively as a forming agent, thickener, and dispersant.

  •  Paper Manufacturing
By enhancing paper strength and durability, BC mitigates the loss of fiber strength in recycled paper. It is also ideal for producing banknote paper and high-quality writing paper.

  • High-End Audio Equipment
Owing to its high purity and crystallinity, BC exhibits exceptional mechanical properties. After hot pressing, its Young’s modulus reaches 30 GPa, making it an excellent material for speaker, microphone, and earphone diaphragms. As a result, it ensures fast sound transmission, high internal damping, and delivers clear and powerful audio output.

  •  Environmental Management
With notable adsorption and ion exchange capabilities, BC is applicable in sewage treatment and water purification.
