Product Overview
Thin Layer MoS₂ Nano Powder consists of two-dimensional molybdenum disulfide nanosheets with a graphene-like layered structure. MoS₂ exhibits three crystal phases (1T, 2H, 3R), with the stable 2H phase dominating in macroscopic materials. We produce this powder through a lithium intercalation method: using n-butyllithium to insert lithium ions between MoS₂ layers, forming an intercalation compound that expands in solvent and is exfoliated via ultrasonication before freeze-drying. The resulting nanosheets feature a 1T-2H mixed-phase structure with approximately 60% 1T phase content (batch-dependent).
